(morning)

Erica lee

My two names

vacillate.

A paper coin in sunlight

I am small and wooded

a bird who crawls         a vagrant creature

from the back seat of my father’s car sees

trees blanketed in kudzu          and dreams

of living soft and green.

A dryad’s home.

The plants I know       and do not know

the birds I know and                do not know

I am learning my legs again.

The scales have fallen from my eyes and the world is green and

green              and                                green                             and                                            green
